As part of the Perth City Deal CBD Transport Plan, the highly anticipated upgrade to Roe Street commenced construction at the end of May 2021, with a scheduled completion mid 2023.

The upgrade, completed by appointed contactor Civcon and in collaboration with DevelopmentWA, will facilitate the upgrade of critical infrastructure and revitalised streetscapes.

The completed project will complement the Perth City Link development, reconnect the Central Business District with Northbridge and facilitate regeneration of the area. While the entire project will be constructed by Civcon, DevelopmentWA and the City of Perth will be responsible for delivering two separate projects (referred to as 'Package A' and 'Package B').

The projects have been delivered simultaneously to minimise disruption, with a coordinated approach being taken to complete the infrastructure upgrades (Package A) prior to the street beautification project (Package B) and will be completed in sections over various stages.

Please note that there will be pedestrian and cycle path detours in place.
