    What is the benefit of doing this work now?

    The decking planks are nearing the end of their useful life and some are in various stages of decay.  Replacing the decking now will minimise safety risk to the public.

    Will access to properties be affected by the project?

    Access to properties will be maintained at all times.  However, some delays may occur due to delivery of materials.

    Access to businesses will not be affected.  The existing footpaths around the Cove will not be closed.

    Access is still available to either side of the Cove along the existing footpaths.

    The bridge will be opened during event days at Optus Stadium

    What is the Trafalgar Bridge Deck Replacement Project?

    This project involves the replacement of the existing timber decking along the entire length of the bridge.  To maintain the aesthetics, the existing decking on Trafalgar Bridge with be replaced with timber planks.

    Why is the Trafalgar Bridge Deck Replacement Project needed?

    The existing timber decking is reaching the end of its useful life and is in need of renewal where it is evident a number of the timber decking planks are splitting, and some are in various stages of decay.

    Will parking be impacted?

    A lay down area will be established on the car park at the end of Brown St. and the Contractor will utilise only the minimum space required.  Some car bays along Henry Lawson Walk may be closed temporary for delivery of materials.
