What is being planned for the Perth Riverfront?

The Perth riverfront has the potential to become a world class destination.

The City of Perth will be working with the Western Australian community and other stakeholders to develop a shared vision for the future of the Riverfront.

What part of the Riverfront does this process cover?

The riverfront area from Elizabeth Quay to the Causeway. Click here to see a plan.

What opportunities will there be for the community to have input into the process?

The river is the heart of our capital city, and City of Perth want as many people as possible to share their vision for the Riverfront. In the first stage, we will be asking people to complete a survey about the Riverfront. The feedback we receive through this process will then help shape a high level vision. Once the vision plan has been developed, there will be further consultation with the community and stakeholders, as we work towards the finalisation of a high level document for the Riverfront.

Want to learn more about the cultural heritage of Perth’s riverfront?

Why has community consultation been extended?

In mid-March, the City of Perth commenced engagement on the City’s Riverfront Project and due to the onset of Covid-19 restrictions, we were not able to complete the community engagement as planned.

With restrictions almost completely lifted (as at June 2020), the City has decided to re-engage the community on Perth’s Riverfront and hope to hear from as many people as possible to develop a shared vision for the future. Thank you to those who have already contributed and filled out a survey, your feedback is greatly appreciated and will be included.
