Perth Capital City Plan
The City of Perth is reviewing and renewing its Strategic Community Plan (SCP)—our city’s long-term roadmap that will guide priorities, investment, and decision-making over the next decade.
This renewed plan, to be known as the Perth Capital City Plan – Towards 2036 and Beyond, will shape how we grow, connect, and thrive as a globally connected, inclusive, and future-focused capital city.
The new Perth Capital City Plan – Towards 2036 and Beyond will be shaped by the voices of stakeholders and our community, and we want to ensure that as many people as possible have the chance to contribute.
Let’s Shape Perth’s Future Together
This is your chance to help shape a Perth we’re proud to call home, work in, invest in, and enjoy every day.
Why This Matters
This plan will influence how Perth grows and evolves over the next ten years. It’s essential that it reflects the needs, values, and aspirations of the people who live, work, invest, and participate in our city—across all sectors.
How You Can Get Involved
There are several ways to participate in the engagement process:
- Complete the Community Survey for Local Residents. Community Members and Visitors (Open 1 September to 7 November 2025)
- Complete the Sector Survey for Businesses; Government and Non-Government Organisations (Open 1 September to 7 November 2025)
Pop-Up Sessions
We’ve now completed 14 Pop-Up Sessions throughout September and October at various locations across the City of Perth, including all precincts and the University of Western Australia (UWA).
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to share their thoughts and help shape the Perth Capital City Plan. Your input has been invaluable in capturing diverse perspectives and priorities.
Community Workshops
In October, we hosted a series of six workshops across each neighbourhood area. These sessions gave community members the opportunity to help shape a shared vision for Perth’s future, identify key challenges and opportunities, and guide strategic priorities.
In addition to these neighbourhood workshops, invitations were extended to schools and universities to participate in workshops and pop-up sessions. Mercedes College and St George’s Anglican Grammar School supported this engagement by hosting workshops with their students, ensuring youth voices were meaningfully included in the planning process.
We sincerely thank all participants for their time, insights, and contributions.
What Happens Next
Stakeholder and community feedback will directly inform the development of the draft Perth Capital City Plan, which will be released for public review in early 2026, with anticipated council approval by by mid-2026.
