How are the LGBTQIA+ Advisory Group Members selected?

The City of Perth (City) invites nominations to become a group member by advertising vacancies for a minimum of two weeks. At the close of this period, a panel of two current LGBTQIA+ Advisory Group members and two City of Perth staff will assess the applications based on their responses to the selection criteria in the nomination form and giving consideration to membership composition to meet criteria in the LGBTQIA+ Advisory Group Terms of Reference.

The panel will be making a 'blind assessment' with only responses to the selection criteria supplied for assessment.

Note that applicants may be interviewed as part of the process.

Appointments will be upon the recommendation of the City's Chief Executive Officer and by resolution of Council.

Nominations for the Advisory Group are promoted via City of Perth social media channels, peak bodies and organisations; community organisations who represent or provide services to the LGBTQIA+ community; and other relevant community organisations.
