Consultation has concluded

The City of Perth is pleased to advise that conservation and repair works at Langley Park Pumping Station will be undertaken to improve the existing condition and security. The repairs commencing 27 January 2023, will aim to protect the heritage fabric and to preserve the area into the future.

PROJECT DETAILS

The following benefits will be delivered:
• Protect significant heritage fabric by carrying out essential works to the building
• Improve the existing condition and security of the Pumping Station

LOCATION: Langley Park, Perth
DATES: 27 January 2023 until 2 May 2023
DAYS: Monday to Friday
TIME: 7am to 5pm


HISTORY

The Low-Level Sewage Pumping Station No. 2 was constructed in 1914 and is prominently located at Langley Park. The building remains heritage listed for its significance, it was decommissioned in 1989 and its ownership was transferred to the City of Perth. Located near the intersection of Hill Street and Terrace Road, alongside the existing Langley Park Changeroom facility.


IMPACTS OF WORKS

  • The building will be fenced off for the duration of the project. However, no external pedestrian access will be impacted during these works.
  • Mild level of noise from these works is to be expected during the hours of 7am to 5pm. All City contractors are bound by the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997.
