Who has the City of Perth been engaging with?
The City has been connecting with a wide range of stakeholders through different channels to ensure diverse perspectives are heard. This has included letter drops to local businesses and residents, an earlier community survey, and meetings with advisory groups.
As part of this next stage of consultation, we’ll also be holding a series of drop-in sessions, online surveys and one-on-one meetings to ensure all voices are heard and the plan reflects the aspirations of the community.
What did the City hear in the first round of consultation?
In the first survey, the community shared clear priorities for James Street. The top three themes were:

3. Creating better public spaces and amenities
Other key feedback included:
• A strong desire for more greenery, art, and playfulness along the street
• Concerns about driver behaviour and vehicle dominance during busy periods
