Why is the City undertaking these works?

    These works are are part of an ongoing initiative to comply with the City’s Public Lighting Framework 2019 – 2029, which has been adopted by Council, and will renew equipment at the end of its useful life and improve lighting levels along the streetscape. 

    LED luminaires will replace the existing High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) lights currently used on the roads to improve quality of lighting, safety and energy efficiency.

    Stiles Electrical & Communication Services Pty Ltd for Road Lighting Upgrade along

    • Victoria Ave between St Georges Terrace to Terrace Road Lighting Upgrade;
    • Adelaide Tce (Victoria Ave to Bennett St) Lighting Upgrade;
    • Lime St between Royal St and City Farm Pl;
    • Royal St between Lord St and Bennett St; 
    • Bennett St between Royal St and Wittenoom St;

    EOS Electrical for LED lighting Upgrades for the following locations

    • Aberdeen St between Fitzgerald St and Beaufort St;
    • Francis St between Parker St and William St;
    • William St between Roe St and Newcastle St;
    • Supreme Court Gardens.

     

    How will this impact drivers?

    Vehicles

    Depending on the location, there will be various partial footpath closures and / or road lane closures to facilitate these installations. Access will be provided to businesses and bus stops at all times. 

    Pedestrians

    Please follow the pedestrian detour signs around the work site.
