Consultation has concluded

The Local Planning Strategy (the Strategy) is one of the key guiding documents for the growth of Perth city over the next 10-15 years. It will provide the strategic basis for the preparation of the City of Perth’s new Local Planning Scheme No.3 and planning policies.

A Local Planning Strategy is a legislative prerequisite for preparing the City’s future Local Planning Scheme No.3 which will replace the City’s existing City Planning Scheme No. 2 along with City of Subiaco’s TPS No.4 and City of Nedland’s TPS No.2. The City must prepare a Local Planning Strategy to provide the strategic basis for the future Local Planning Scheme No.3.

The Strategy will support the City in fulfilling its role to recognise, promote and enhance the social, environmental, economic and cultural setting of the city for the community, both now and into the future.

The Local Planning Strategy was approved by the Western Australian Planning Commission in May 2023.
