Consultation has concluded

The City of Perth will host its final instalment of the City of Light Shows for the summer season on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February 2023 from 5pm until 9pm.

The event will commence at 5pm each night with roving entertainment, workshops, water jet pack shows (Saturday only) and food trucks. Each night, the event will conclude with a drone show over the Swan River accompanied by a narrated soundtrack.

Location: Elizabeth Quay inlet, Barrack Square and surrounds
Times: 5pm to 9pm

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

The City encourages business owners to prepare appropriately for the increase of patrons expected in the area during the event times. Food businesses may wish to offer patrons a dining deal, takeaway or arrange for picnic hampers to be premade for the event. To promote your offerings please upload the details to the Business Hub page where the City can upload to Visit Perth with opportunities to be included in generic event postings across our social pages.

ROAD CLOSURES & PARKING

To facilitate the safe running of the event, the following road closures will be in place from 1:30pm until 11pm, or when roads are safe to open each night:

• Geoffrey Bolton Avenue, Duchess Way and Enchantress Way (3pm to 10pm)
• Birdiya Drive (1:30pm citybound to 11pm citybound). Access to Mounts Bay Road and the Freeway will remain open, with traffic controls in place.
• William Street (7pm to 9pm). Birdiya Drive will not be accessible during this time.

The City will ensure that impact to business is minimised and access to properties is maintained wherever possible however vehicle access is not permitted beyond 3pm on the above roads. The Esplanade will NOT be closed at any point throughout the day.

Towing

To maintain public safety within the event space, vehicle towing will apply in Elizabeth Quay from 2pm on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February.

Bump in/out Noise 

Limited infrastructure will bump-in commencing 9am on Friday 17 February, with the majority of bump-in to occur on Saturday 18 February from 8am.

Audio speakers will be placed around the Elizabeth Quay. There will be intermittent amplified noise between 10am and 5pm (sound checks in 20 minute intervals) and from 5pm to 9pm on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February.

Post event bump-out will occur from 10pm on Sunday 19 February, however this will be low impact with minimal noise. Additional infrastructure may be picked up on Monday 20 February.
