Citizens Advisory Panel Workshop 1 Outcomes

22 June 2021

The Citizens Advisory Panel's (CAP) first workshop had a few objectives, including identifying the group's shared, or different, values. The outcomes of the first workshop begin to confirm the direction for the following workshops and provide a solid understanding of the group and their expectations.

The first workshops outcomes report can be found under the Citizens Advisory Panel Workshops Outcomes Reports heading or at the following link: UWA QEII Workshop 1 Outcomes Report.

The workshop provided background context and ascertained key values from group work. It also looked at the kinds of solutions we might use to ensure we maintain key values as the neighbourhood grows and changes.

The panel provided rich information about their existing values for the area, with the strongest themes coming through as the environment, the leafy nature of the area, the need for a stronger community, streetscape amenity, traffic and parking (concerns), questions about density and development and other issues such as safety and infrastructure provision.

The workshop also invited panel members to focus on solutions to retain these values, with the idea of greening and enhanced community, topping the list of elements that the group discussed in greater detail.

In total, the panel members presented some 35 values and corresponding solutions, highlighting key focus areas to explore in the ongoing workshop process.
