Citizens Advisory Panel Workshop 2 Outcomes

8 July 2021

The Citizens Advisory Panel's (CAP) Workshop 2's goal was to understand all the other significant developments in the area. The developments include the UWA, QEII Medical Centre and Kings Park. Furthermore, the workshop also confirmed the CAP's principles and vision for the area further.

You will find the second workshop's outcomes report under the Citizens Advisory Panel Workshops Outcomes Reports heading or at the following link: UWA QEII Workshop 1&2 Outcomes Report. Please note that the outcomes report is a progressive report including both Workshop 1 and 2's information.

Workshop 2 provided the CAP with more information about future planning for the QEII Medical Centre, UWA and Kings Park. The available presentations are attached to the outcomes report at APPENDIX D. The UWA presentation is currently unavailable; however, their Master Plan is available at the following link: UWA Campus Master Plan.

Workshop 2 also provided the CAP with an opportunity to share their perceptions of the area with the project team. The observations shared broadly related to:

  • the landscaping in the precinct,
  • the design of the streets,
  • the characteristics of the buildings, and
  • the pedestrian/community activity on the street.

There was a strong emphasis on the area being green with well-maintained verges and gardens. There was a consensus that the area felt safe, and lots of people interact on the street. Yet, the panel acknowledged that the streets were generally designed for cars.
