The City of Perth is pleased to advise construction works for Parkway Street and Myers Street, Crawley will be commencing 29 March 2023 to July 2023. The Streetscape Replacement and Upgrade project will be completed in three stages between the hours of 7am to 5pm to minimise disruption and the impact on businesses and residents. 


PROJECT TIMELINE

The three work stages will involve work demolition, kerbing, paving, asphalting and mulching. The below project dates are provisional pending permit approvals and suitable weather conditions.

Section 1: Myers Street Reconstruction - Commencing late March to Early May 2023

Section 2: Parkway Reconstruction (between Myers Street and Caporn Street) - Commencing early May 2023 to mid-June 2023

Section 3: Parkway Reconstruction (between Caporn Street and Princess Road) - Commencing mid-June to late July 2023

PROJECT BENEFITS

  • Address the existing condition of the parking bays to allow for trees and parking to co-exist.
  • Address pedestrian access to strengthen the connection between the University of Western Australia (UWA) and Broadway.
  • Improve pedestrian amenity by decluttering existing footpaths and ensuring paths are continuous.

 PROJECT IMPACTS

  • Vehicle access along Parkway and Myers Street, will be maintained for the duration of the works but some delays may occur due to the partial lane closures. These partial lane closures will be staged where possible to minimise disruption. 
  • Staged closure of parking bays along Parkway and Myers Street 
  • Noise from equipment during working hours can be expected.

Due to delays this project is due to be completed early October 2023.
