Consultation has concluded

The City of Perth has a strong focus on fostering vibrant, active and connected communities. To help achieve this, the City has developed a Neighbourhood Place Plan which identifies six unique neighbourhoods within the local government boundaries, each with distinct characteristics and community needs. The City provides various services to create and upkeep vibrant and safe neighbourhoods, including the creation and upkeep of public open spaces, lighting, roads and footpaths.

There is opportunity for the community to apply for funding to support a variety of projects via the City’s Grants and Sponsorship programs. The Local Activation Grant program provides the community opportunity to apply for funding (up to $15,000) to support events, arts and cultural activity that has a public outcome.

The City of Perth is currently preparing the annual Events Plan for the 2023/24 financial year ahead of consideration at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 March 2023. This document outlines what the City will deliver throughout the year to enliven our neighbourhoods further.

‘Neighbourhood Activation’ is included in the draft Plan with a total proposed budget of $100,000 to be split evenly between the six pre-defined neighbourhood groups (approximately $16,000 each).

The City of Perth is seeking feedback on the type of activation the community would like to see with these allocated funds.

Some examples of 2022/23 Neighbourhood Activation are featured below:
