What is the membership composition?
Membership will consist of twelve to fifteen community members.
The group must include 50% membership from inner city residents (i.e. the local government areas of Perth, South Perth, Vincent, Victoria Park and Subiaco). The remaining 50% must represent people who demonstrate connection to the City of Perth, or represent organisations who provide relevant services to residents, businesses and/or visitors of the City of Perth.
Intersectional experiences and gender diversity will be prioritised in the composition of the group to ensure it is representative of the LGBTQIA+ population and to encourage a broad range of perspectives, ideas and recommendations.
The membership of the Advisory Group will aim to meet a 40/40/20 balance in its membership, 40% men, 40% women, 20% with diverse gender* experiences and identities including the full spectrum of non-binary self-identifying people.
At least one place will be reserved for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. We further commit to explicitly include Ethnic and Cultural Identity, all Abilities and Accessible experiences, Youth (18 – 25 year olds), Older Adults (60 years and older) and differing sexualities and intersex experience.
