The City of Perth is pleased to advise that Council House will undergo conservation and repair works with the purpose of enhancing the current condition of the water feature and podium. The repairs will strive to safeguard the heritage significance of the building and maintain the space into the future.
The planned works are scheduled between February and June 2023.
Access to Council House through the front entrance will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
PROJECT DETAILS
The repair works are separated into four stages, as shown below:
Stage 1 - Entrance Walkway Repairs
- The entrance to Council House will be partially closed to facilitate the investigation and repair works. - Stage 1 is scheduled for completion in April 2023.
Stage 2 - Podium Drains
- The existing drains will receive additional supports to reinforce their stability. - Stage 2 is scheduled for completion in May 2023.
Stage 3 - Lower Ground Car Park Concrete Repairs
- The scope of the works includes the restoration of the concrete soffit located along the southern wall of the Lower Ground Car Park. - Stage 3 is scheduled for completion in April 2023.
Stage 4 - Water Feature Repairs and Retiling
- The works will take place concurrently with Stage 2 and involve localised repairs, new waterproofing and retiling. - Stage 4 is scheduled for completion in June 2023.
