Claisebrook Cove Revitalisation Stage 1
About the Project
Originally developed in the early 1990s, Claisebrook Cove transformed the former East Perth Gasworks into a vibrant public space with parklands, lakes, promenades, and public art. Over 30 years later, ageing infrastructure, water quality issues within the lake, and reduced amenity signal the need for renewal.
To address this, the City of Perth has created the Claisebrook Cove Public Realm Rectification Plan—a targeted revitalisation to improve function, amenity, and access while preserving the Cove’s character.
The Stage 1 Concept Plan, adopted on 29 October 2024, focuses on Claisebrook Lake and nearby parklands, with upgrades to water quality, lighting, pathways, sustainability, and community spaces.

Community Engagement
This Final Concept Plan builds on extensive consultation:
• 2023: Community input on jetty structures and an initial Ideas Plan.
• 2024: Feedback on the draft Concept Plan.
Key themes included strong support for revitalisation, urgent concern for lake health, improved access and safety, protection of wildlife, and retention of local art and character.
