WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS NOISE SURVEY?

To gauge community attitudes toward the acceptability of outdoor concerts, the City has previously engaged research consultants to conduct community noise surveys in 2005, 2011, 2014 and 2016. The aim is to re-survey every 3-5 years to ensure that the CEO’s decision making under regulation 18 is aligned with changing expectations of the community.

WHY SHOULD I DO THE SURVEY?

If you wish to support the events in your respective community, we need to hear from you.

The City of Perth Health and Activity Approvals are developing key events guidelines and your feedback will assist in its development.

WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THE DATA FROM THIS SURVEY?

The data acquired from the survey will assist the City to determine next steps as well as provide the basis of an event guideline currently under development.

WHICH COMMUNITY AREAS ARE YOU SPECIFICALLY FOCUSED ON?

In the context of this project, the term ‘community’ refers to all noise sensitive receivers (residents and operators of accommodation based premises such as lodging houses, hotels, hospitals, hostels, motels etc), located within specified proximity of the following public reserves:

    o Russell Square

    o Wellington Square

    o Ozone Reserve

    o Langley Park

    o Supreme Court Gardens

The relevant survey target area for each public reserve is delineated within the attached maps.

HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT THE RESULTS WERE?

We are providing respondents with the option to be updated post survey. Simply register your interest on the Engage Perth City of Perth Noise Survey page.

HOW LONG WILL THE SURVEY RUN FOR?

The survey will run for 4 to 6 weeks and should take no more that 10 to 12 minutes of your time to complete.

The voice of the community is crucial to guide the City in next steps, ensuring community views are acknowledged and taken into consideration for future events.
