The City’s Strategic Community Plan 2022 - 2032 identifies cultural and artistic industries, activations and events as a strategic priority in creating a liveable City where the community is active, vibrant and connected. The 2025 Events Strategy aims to make Perth as our capitol city, the events heart of Western Australia – not just for those attending the capital but for event organisers to host here as well from the small local community group to an international superstar on their world tour.
The City of Perth hosts events across our public reserves and private venues each year, including concerts, cultural, sporting and community events.
To ensure the sustainability of events and cultural activities, the city is looking at how to manage noise across the City and we need your help.
Your voice is important in this process.
The City has undertaken community surveys in relation to noise from events in 2005, 2011, 2014 and 2017 and 2020 which has informed our approach to noise approvals (Regulation 18s).
In 2020, the city developed noise management guidelines which aimed to balance sustaining the culture and vibrancy of our capital City and protecting our community and our residents.
Now in 2025, it is time to engage with our community seeking your feedback on noise approvals.
The survey will seek feedback from the community on noise approvals as it relates to the following:
- Living in the city
- Noise from events
- Noise from our venues
