Background
Ice-Cream Factory is an outdoor entertainment venue that welcomes a diverse audience including previous partnerships with ArtRage (Fringeworld) Pride WA and Perth Symphony Orchestra. Ice-Cream Factory has operated since 2017 with noise approvals under Regulation 18 Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997.
Ice Cream Factory has submitted an application to the City of Perth seeking approval as an Approved Venue under Regulation 19B of the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997.
An Approved Venue would allow a specified number of events that Ice Cream Factory may host in any year and impose conditions to limit the impact that these events may have on the wider community.
The application is requesting the following:
A maximum of 25 outdoor events per year consisting of the following:
1 event 8 hour duration operating from 5.00pm – 1.00am (New Years Eve)
1 event 9 hour duration operating from 2.00pm – 11.00pm
23 events 6 hour duration operating from 5.00pm – 11.00pm
Maximum noise level 100LAeq, 5 mins, 110 LCeq, 5mins (measured at the outdoor stage)
The purpose of this engagement is to inform the community of Ice Cream Factory’s Regulation 19B application and to give opportunity to those occupiers, and external stakeholders in close proximity to the venue the opportunity to make a submission on whether the venue should be approved.
